Missing in Action...
Oct. 7th, 2013 11:06 amMissing in action this last week, and missing all of my flist.
It all started when my sister Jan and I joined weight watchers together last December. We’ve been doing great, but I couldn’t seem to get myself motivated to exercise. Then two weeks ago a miracle happened and I took all the dirty clothes off my exercise bike. I rode for ten minutes, then later that afternoon another fifteen, and so on. When I met with Jan to go to weight watchers I told her I was up to riding my bike four times a day for fifteen minutes, each session. Of course she was slightly jealous, being less motivated to exercise than I was at the time. It just became addictive, and I’ve been doing it every day since.
Egging her on, she started riding her exercise bike. Being fall outside she decided to get a new bike, to see the beautiful countryside. She biked all around her neighborhood, and then when she pulled into her driveway she squeezed the hand brakes (that were very sensitive) and catapulted herself over the handlebars and landing on the cement. She hit her head, shoulder, hip and foot.
I feel so guilty, even though I know it’s not my fault. She ended up breaking her hip and collarbone. She had her hip replacement, and is doing really doing well getting around (as much as can be expected). Of course the doctor isn’t going to do anything for her collarbone, he said it will heal on its own, over time. So I’ve been spending every day at the hospital, and today she’s finally coming home. I still plan and spending every afternoon with her, to give her husband John a break, and just help out where I can.
Hopefully things will be less hectic, and I’ll be able to get back to livejournal, and writing my story “The Offer Still Stands”. I haven’t forgotten any of you and miss you all bunches. Now wish me luck this afternoon, I’m having an echocardiogram, my doctor found a heart mummer last week at my checkup, but I’m sure it’s nothing…

PS To finally relax last night when I got home from the hospital I started watching QAF season one, episode one… There’s nothing like Brian and Justin to take your mind off things…
