Chapter One ~ Love Letters

When he left he expected me to call, and he expected me to visit, but he asked me to write to him. He wanted letters… love letters. He knew I was vulnerable and I would have agreed to anything he asked for but love letters; he knows how hard it is for me to express my feelings, to put them into words. Yet he expects me to shower him with little notes of our love…

I sit and write a few words then I crumple up the paper and throw it in the nearly overflowing trashcan by my desk. Why is this so hard for me? I miss you desperately and think about you all the time, but you won’t find that on a piece of my stationery. What do you say to someone that holds all the power in our relationship? You always have, you just never knew how much. Okay, so I’ll try again…

       Dear Justin,

I miss waking up next to you, with you drooling on my chest and leaving your wet towels on the bed. I miss brushing all your cookie crumbs off the counter and rinsing off your dishes you leave in the sink. But mostly I miss listening to your non-stop chatter. Whoever thought silence could be so deafening in the loft?

Mikey stopped by an hour or so after you left and tried to get me to go out to Woody’s but I just didn’t feel like seeing the gang right now. I’m planning on working more, trying to keep busy and thought maybe I’d come early on Thursday, instead of Friday, if you’d like me to?

I know it will only be a few days since I’ve seen you but I truly miss you to death. I swear I’m not going to let you leave the bedroom and I want you to find some place nicer to live. No roommates. I want you all to myself when I’m there.

I know you’ll be dragging me off to see the museums and art galleries but let’s go slow. After all, I’m planning on visiting every other weekend. Of course you could come home some of those weekends. I do miss you desperately and can’t wait to see you in a few days.

There, that wasn’t so bad. It’s best if I just mail it and don’t re-read it or it will end up in the trash like the others. God, I feel like a total twat. I’m so excited about seeing him.
